This thesis outlined the need to introduce the concept of “lifelong learning” in the system of continuing education, attention to the quality of education in the third Renaissance, directions of international cooperation in the modernization of continuing education, the possibility of using digital technologies, scientifically based recommendations on the basic elements of the system for ensuring the quality of continuing education based on international standards.
