Even in fairy tales, an Uzbek wedding lasts forty days and forty nights. In real life, it's not that long. Another key difference in Oriental wedding ceremonies is the abundance of festive rituals. An Uzbek wedding is a colorful event with lots of national treats, fun music and interesting rituals. Uzbeks themselves call the wedding ceremony "nikokh tuy". Wedding customs of the people formed and consolidated for many centuries, and today the Uzbeks continue to honor and perform them. Uzbeks treat this process with the utmost seriousness, so sometimes it drags on for months and even еars. Uzbek wedding is considered a special event for parents and newlyweds, that's why they prepare for it long and thoroughly.
