This article develops the concept of personality traits and presents general structural models of temperament; outlines conceptual models describing possible links between personality traits and criminal and antisocial behavior; and analyzes empirical data supporting each of them. The article shows personality traits that may play a role in resisting criminal and antisocial behavior.The result showed that melancholic and choleric temperaments were positive predictors of crime, while sanguine and phlegmatic were negative predictors. An analysis of scientific ideas about the role of temperament in the predisposition of an individual to crime is carried out. With the help of an empirical study, the hypothesis is confirmed that subjects who committed a certain type of crime have specific personality and psychological characteristics that reveal the determinants of their offenses.
