This article is devoted to the operatic work of Gioacchino Rossi, a prominent figure in the 19th century operatic art. The article extensively covers his life, musical style, important works in the genres of opera buffa and opera seria, as well as his contribution to Italian and world opera. Rossi's famous operas such as "The Barber of Seville", "Tancredi", "William Tell" are analyzed, and their musical characteristics and specific aspects of their librettos are considered. The peak of his creative activity and the reasons for his abandonment of opera are also discussed. The article also pays attention to the assessment of Rossini's work from a modern perspective.
