This article analyzes the psychological foundations of the process of music perception, the formation of musical images in the human mind, the relationship of emotions and states of mind to music. Based on psychological and neuropsychological approaches, the emotional impact of music, individual differences in musical hearing, and the therapeutic potential of music are examined. The results of the article can be applied in the fields of music education, music therapy, and art history.
