Abstract
This article analyzes the need, content, and didactic approaches to teaching the subject "Media Literacy and Information Culture" in pedagogical higher educational institutions. The concept of media literacy, its role in the modern information field, and its importance in forming critical thinking in the minds of young people are highlighted.
