Reading for children is not only a source of knowledge, but also develops their creative thinking, helps to master emotional and moral values. The article considers the need for children's books to be of high quality and enlightening, as well as the need to develop a reading culture in children as an important issue. The social and educational role of reading, the role of the family and society in promoting a reading culture, is also discussed.
