This article is devoted to a broad coverage of the history, stages of development, specific features and global significance of the Khorezm dance art. Special attention is paid to such important aspects as the formation of the national dance school based on the Khorezm “Lazgi” dance, its musical and movement aesthetics, as well as its inclusion in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The article provides information on the connection of Khorezm dance with folk oral art, religious ceremonies and modern performing arts, as well as its global promotion and role in international festivals.
