The use of non-traditional feed additives in feeding farm animals is a relevant area in modern animal husbandry. The article discusses various types of non-traditional feed additives, including plant extracts, probiotics, enzyme preparations, seaweed and food industry waste. Particular attention is paid to their impact on animal productivity, product quality (meat, milk, eggs), health and immune status. The advantages and disadvantages of using such additives are analyzed, including their cost-effectiveness and environmental safety. The results of studies demonstrating the potential of non-traditional additives in reducing dependence on antibiotics and chemical growth promoters are considered. The prospects for the development of new biotechnology-based feed additives and their role in the sustainable development of animal husbandry are also discussed.
