This article analyzes the biology, distribution area, and damage caused to fruit trees, particularly pear and apple trees, of the pear borer (Stephanitis Pyri (Fabricius, 1775). The life cycle of the insect, egg-laying characteristics, larval development stages, and ecological impact are discussed. Agrotechnical, chemical, and ecological control methods are recommended to reduce damage. The information provided in the article will serve to develop effective measures against the pest in horticultural practice.
