This thesis discusses the role of plant species of the genus Tamarix L. in agriculture and natural ecosystems. These species are wild plants that are resistant to salinity, drought and erosion, and are of great importance in land use, reclamation of desert areas and greening. At the same time, they provide stability in ecosystems as dust collectors, biofilters and green barriers against erosion.
