This article presents information on the taxonomy of the genera and species of the Papaveraceae Juss. family in the flora of Surkhandarya region. The Papaveraceae Juss. family in the flora of Surkhandarya region is distinguished by its unique plant world. The latest scientific studies on their distribution and taxonomic status across botanical and geographical regions are presented. Currently, 1036 species of this family belonging to 48 genera are known on Earth [12], and 53 species belonging to 10 genera are distributed in Central Asia [1]. 32 species belonging to 9 genera have been identified in Uzbekistan [8], of which 22 species belonging to 6 genera are recorded growing in Surkhandarya region.
