Abstract: This article studies the effects of radionuclides on the human body. The routes of entry of radionuclides into the body, diseases caused by them, and measures for protecting against radiation are reviewed. The results of the study show that ionizing radiation can cause serious damage to the DNA structure, causing genetic mutations and cancer. It is important to adhere to the principles of distance, time, and shielding to protect against radiation hazards.
