This article studies the biological and biochemical properties of the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris, which has high adaptability and significant potential in various areas of applied biotechnology. The history of the discovery of the species, its evolutionary stability and wide distribution due to its unique cell structure are described. Particular attention is paid to the chemical composition of Chlorella: a high content of protein, lipids, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins and trace elements.
