Lactobacillus acidophilus is a biologically important species of microorganisms with probiotic properties, which is characterized by its role in restoring the balance of the digestive system, enhancing the immune system response, and suppressing the activity of harmful microorganisms. This bacterium is used as the main component of many pharmaceutical preparations, in particular, bioadditives and probiotic drugs. The aim of this study is to expand the possibilities of its use in pharmaceuticals by conducting an in-depth morphological, physiological, and biochemical study of the bacterium Lactobacillus acidophilus, as well as determining its antibacterial activity.
