The paper examines the possible link between changes in the intestinal microbiota and the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The relationship between the microbiota and the degree of liver damage, as well as the impact of these changes on the processes occurring under the hypothesis, is considered. It is noted that the intestinal microbiota is an independent system that can participate in the development of metabolic disorders. Understanding these processes helps to take a new look at the causes of NAFLD and the role of microbiota in maintaining liver health
