This literature review analyzes scientific studies on sex differences in body composition during adolescence, a period during which significant changes in body composition, namely fat mass, muscle mass, and bone density, occur. Adolescence is an intensive stage of growth and sexual maturation, and the differences in body composition between males and females are closely related to biological, hormonal, genetic, and external factors. The article analyzes sex differences in body composition, the relationship of these changes to hormonal and external factors, as well as scientific data obtained using modern diagnostic methods (DEXA and bioimpedanceometry).
