Today, the issue of energy supply is becoming increasingly urgent around the world. In particular, the demand for renewable energy sources is increasing in order to reduce global warming and environmental problems. Therefore, small hydroelectric power plants (SHPs) have become one of the most promising energy generation technologies today. SHPs are of great importance, especially for developing countries, including Uzbekistan. They can be built at low cost, and their environmental friendliness makes them one of the most environmentally friendly methods of energy production. This thesis will review the general concept of SHPs, their advantages, economic and environmental benefits, and their potential in Uzbekistan in an expanded form.
