This scientific article aims to study the importance and methodology of preparing schoolchildren in Uzbekistan for the international studies PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) and PIRLS (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study). The article analyzes the role of PISA and PIRLS studies in assessing students' knowledge and skills, as well as the low results of Uzbek students in these studies. The need to modernize curricula, improve teacher training, and apply modern pedagogical approaches is indicated in order to improve students' preparation.
