This article discusses the impact of globalization on the education sector and the need to form and develop pedagogical competencies. Social, economic and technological changes resulting from globalization require new approaches to pedagogical activities. Also, a modern teacher is expected to be not only a provider of knowledge, but also a digitally literate, interculturally literate, innovatively thinking specialist. The article analyzes the main areas of development of pedagogical competencies, international experience, as well as existing problems in the education system of Uzbekistan and ways to overcome them. The results of the study substantiate the need for a systematic approach to the formation of modern pedagogical competencies. Currently, the national education system is being modernized and the main directions of its reorganization are being determined: ensuring the global competitiveness of education, its compliance with modern social and world trends, and educating a well-rounded and socially responsible person. In this regard, the model of the teacher is being transformed into a specialist with a high level of responsibility, competence, communication flexibility, socially significant values, and ethical norms of social consciousness.
