Abstract
The urgency of creating an environment for the development of competencies in the study of costume and fashion history for future light industry designers, and improving their knowledge, skills and qualifications in the history of costume and fashion is based on this. The competencies in the study of costume and fashion history are summarized. The design activity, historical costume forms and their development are discussed.
