The article considers the urgent problem of developing meta-subject competencies in metrological engineers in practice-oriented educational conditions. The article proposes a complex technology created on the basis of Kolb's experiential learning cycle. This technology is aimed at developing critical thinking, problem solving, systematic analysis, adaptability and communication skills of engineers, which are necessary for their effective activity in modern industry. The educational activities used at each stage of this cycle in the educational process, their impact on the professional activities of metrological engineers, and the expected results are analyzed.
