The article describes the emergence and development of the dual form of vocational education in Germany. The theoretical foundations and content of the historical conditions for the creation and development of the dual system of education are considered. The dual system of vocational education in Germany involves the interaction of two independent carriers in the organizational and legal relations of education carriers within the framework of an officially recognized framework, i.e. vocational education is carried out in accordance with the legislation on vocational education.
