Abstract
This article examines the importance of the professional development and image of a modern teacher. The role of a teacher in improving the quality of education, his professional competence and personal qualities are highlighted. The importance of the law "On the Status of a Teacher", modern requirements and ways to form a teacher's image are also analyzed.
