The article considers the professional and personal aspects of the innovative activity of a primary school teacher as a key factor in increasing the effectiveness of the educational process. The main components of professional and personal preparation for innovations are analyzed, the types of innovations that primary school teachers encounter are described. The results of research revealing the relationship between the personal qualities of a teacher and his innovative activity are presented. Special attention is paid to the mechanisms of forming an innovative culture and pedagogical reflection. Attention is paid to the need for targeted training of future teachers to work in a changing educational environment.
