This article provides a detailed account of the personality of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur (1483–1530), his encyclopedic scientific heritage, and the formation and development of science, statehood, architecture, and especially the school of miniature art in India during the Babur dynasty he founded (16th–17th centuries). It also extensively explores the administrative and economic reforms implemented by Akbar Shah (1556–1605), the greatest representative of the Babur dynasty, and the cultural and political consequences of such an integrated religious movement as Din-i Ilah.
