The historical term “sipohiilik” (“sipohiilik”, “sipohilik”) used in the works of Baburnoma and Navoi was studied to correspond to the modern term “military art”. During the study of this term, it was found that it constitutes synonyms such as “military skill”, “military mastery”, “military talent” in the modern Uzbek language. The critical edition of “Baburnoma” by the Turkic scholar N.Ilminsky in 1857 was comparatively studied with its translations into modern Uzbek, English, French, Russian and Turkish languages, and relevant conclusions were drawn.
