This article scientifically analyzes the chemical composition of the black salvia plant, its role in folk medicine, and its use in modern medicine. The positive effects of the bioactive substances contained in the plant — thymoquinone, nigellone, carvacrol, thymohydroxyquinone, p-cymene, and other compounds — on human health are highlighted. The article compares the experiences of folk medicine and modern medicine, and analyzes the effects of black salvia on inflammation, cancer, diabetes, liver, and cardiovascular diseases based on scientific sources. In addition, recommendations are developed on the benefits of black salvia as a natural medicine, innovative research in the pharmaceutical field, and the possibilities of its widespread use in medical practice in the future.
