This scientific article is devoted to the analysis of the medicinal properties of pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo L.) peel based on modern scientific approaches. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the use of plant raw materials, in particular, parts that were previously considered waste, as a source of biologically active substances in the pharmaceutical and food industries. Pumpkin peel contains polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, pectin substances, vitamins and mineral elements, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic and immunomodulatory effects. The study analyzed scientific sources on the chemical composition of pumpkin peel extracts, their biological activity and their use in folk medicine and experimental medicine. The article highlights the pharmacological significance of pumpkin peel, promising areas of application and its role in complex treatment. The results obtained allow us to evaluate pumpkin peel as an inexpensive, environmentally friendly and effective natural medicinal raw material.
