This article discusses the content of discrete mathematics, its role in school education, and the need for its wider introduction into textbooks. The possibilities of developing logical, algorithmic, and critical thinking in students through discrete mathematical elements are analyzed. Special attention is also paid to foreign experience, practical examples, and teacher competence issues.
