This scientific article provides a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical and practical aspects of ensuring information security in the information society, in particular, the issues of protecting databases. During the study, cryptographic protection methods, the principles of operation of encryption algorithms, and technologies for illegal access to databases used by cybercriminals are covered from a scientific point of view. Also, effective mechanisms and preventive measures for strengthening security in modern information systems are substantiated.
