This study is devoted to studying the bioecological characteristics of sucking and gnawing insect pests of poplar and willow trees of the Salicaceae family in the Fergana Valley and developing effective control measures against them. During the study, the faunal and taxonomic composition of the pests was determined, and a total of 40 species of insects and 1 species of spider mites were recorded. The developmental stages, damage levels, and distribution characteristics of aphids, scale insects, scale insects, and xylophagous insects were analyzed. Based on field and laboratory experiments, the biological and economic effectiveness of insecticides of various chemical classes was assessed and the optimal treatment times were determined. Based on the results obtained, scientifically based practical recommendations were developed for protecting poplar and willow trees from pests. The results of the study are of great importance in improving the forestry and ornamental tree protection system.
