This article analyzes the modern interpretation of the personality of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur based on his political views. The author studies Babur's principles of governance based on justice, humanity, enlightenment and culture, and compares them with the current theory of "soft power". The significance of Babur's political legacy in the system of modern state administration, diplomacy and cultural diplomacy is revealed. According to the results of the research, Babur is interpreted not only as a political figure of his time, but also as a model of leadership for the 21st century.
