This article analyzes the transformation of intellectual property and copyright in the digital economy. It highlights the transition of the traditional concept of authorship to a digital format, that is, the possibility of unlimited copying of works as a result of their expression in binary code. It also considers modern approaches to strengthening the ownership of digital objects through NFT and blockchain technologies. The article separately analyzes the problem of digital piracy, its rapid spread in global networks and its negative impact on the economic interests of authors. The issue of platform liability based on the “safe harbor” principle in social networks is also discussed. In addition, it reveals that the development of artificial intelligence technologies is creating new legal problems in copyright, in particular, the issues of authorship of works created by AI and the use of data. The study substantiates the need for DRM systems, the use of digital watermarks, and the modernization of legislation as modern mechanisms for copyright protection. In conclusion, it is emphasized that effective protection of intellectual property in the digital environment is an important factor in innovative development and cultural security.
