This article analyzes the theoretical foundations, content, and practical significance of competency-based education. The study substantiates the need to shift from knowledge transmission to the formation of practical skills and abilities in learners. It is shown that a competency-based approach contributes to the development of independent thinking, problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration among students. The role of modern pedagogical technologies, interactive methods, and assessment systems in this process is also highlighted. The results confirm that competency-based education enhances students’ readiness for real-life and professional activities. The article also provides practical recommendations.
