Abstract
Hereditary diseases are diseases resulting from disruption of genetic information; they arise mainly due to mutations in chromosomes or genes and are transmitted from generation to generation. Mutations can occur as a result of external environmental factors (ionizing radiation, some biologically active chemical compounds) and negative effects on the organism and cells.
