Malignant tumors (cancers) are usually aggressive and continue to grow without treatment. However, in rare cases, these tumors spontaneously regress without any medical intervention. This article reviews the mechanisms, possible factors, and clinical significance of spontaneous regression in malignant tumors from a scientific perspective. Key aspects such as the role of the immune system, genetic factors, and environmental influences are reviewed. Recent studies and their implications for future treatment strategies are also discussed.
