This paper explores the scientific aspects of computer science. It begins by defining science and the scientific method, then delves into the connections between science, research, development, and technology. Physics is often considered the gold standard in scientific theory (as noted by Popper, Carnap, Kuhn, and Chalmers), though few sciences reach that level of precision. When it comes to analyzing computer science, the current theories in the philosophy of science aren't particularly useful. In computer science, a relatively new field, the focus of study is the computer—an ever-changing artifact that embodies ideas aimed at organizing knowledge and information about the world, including computers themselves. Despite their distinctions, logic and mathematics form the core foundation of computer science.
